Wides (27/6/1948 - 21/7/2004)
Self-taught, Wides began painting in 1978.
It was in 1989 that he exhibited for the first time, before testing his skills at sculpture, a field in which he would excel.
He discovered engraving with his friend, the artist Fred Bourlard. who watched his skills develop at such a pace he declared he had never seen any of his pupils learn or create so quickly.
Drawings, pastels, watercolours complete his work.
For over 20 years Wides worked tirelessly and leaves us a considerable oeuvre.

A long and painful illness strikes the artist and keeps him away from exhibitions - yet
he remains creative.
